I have been a professional musician for the last 30 years, in the fields of Composing, Performing and Music Education.

I was a student at the Queensland Conservatorium of Music from 1974 – 77 where I studied Piano and French Horn (double majors) and Composition, being Student of the Year in my final undergraduate year.

While I was doing my Graduate Diploma in French Horn and Composition at QCM, I got my first full-time job as 5th Horn in the Queensland Symphony Orchestra, so my one year of study turned into 4.  I then moved to Melbourne where I was Principal Third Horn in the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra for 14 years.

Many years later after returning to Brisbane, I was awarded my PhD in Composition from the University of Queensland.

I currently work as a Music Educator and freelance Composer.  While I have retired from French Horn performing, I still play Piano, accompanying choirs and students for Recitals and exams, and performing my original Piano Duets with my senior students.
